Tiger Woods and TaylorMade Golf Launch Sun Day Red: A New Golf Apparel and Lifestyle Brand

Pacific Palisades witnessed the official unveiling of Sun Day Red, a fresh golf apparel and lifestyle brand, in a highly anticipated move by Tiger Woods and TaylorMade Golf. Following his departure from Nike, Woods expressed the significance of this new partnership, stating his desire to have a brand he can be proud of moving forward. The unveiling took place at The Coach House, a prestigious private event space in Palisades Village, where attendees were treated to a showcase of Sun Day Red merchandise.

The brand's name, Sun Day Red, pays homage to Woods' iconic red shirts worn during Sunday tournaments throughout his career. The Tiger logo of the brand features 15 stripes, symbolizing each of Woods' major championship victories. It was hinted that the logo may be modified if Woods secures another major win.

During a Q&A session led by Fox Sports broadcaster Erin Andrews, TaylorMade Golf President & CEO, David Abeles, shared the story of their initial encounter with Woods and their vision for a deeper partnership. This revelation occurred during a conversation with Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, outside St. Andrews in Scotland. Abeles and his team at TaylorMade swiftly recognized the potential for a collaboration expanding beyond golf clubs and into apparel and footwear. Meeting Woods in Jupiter, Florida, they presented their plan for a new lifestyle brand centered around his legacy. Woods was captivated by their understanding of his vision, exclaiming, "You simply get me."

Although Sun Day Red is launched in partnership with TaylorMade Golf, Abeles emphasized that it will operate as an independent entity, with its headquarters located in San Clemente, California. Led by President Brad Blankinship, formerly associated with Quiksilver and RVCA, the brand aims to establish a strong online presence when it initially launches on May 1, catering to customers in the United States and Canada. Future plans include international expansion, retail expansion, and the addition of women's and kids' product lines. Woods has been actively involved in the product design process, ensuring that the apparel meets his personal preferences while remaining optimistic that other professional players will be enticed to join the brand in the future. "It would be exciting if other players want to wear the product," Woods expressed. "But it's up to us to get the product right first."

The launch of Sun Day Red signifies a new chapter for Tiger Woods and showcases the strong partnership between Woods and TaylorMade Golf as they venture into the world of golf apparel and lifestyle branding.
